June Marie Watson, age 94 of Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
She was born on June 2, 1923 in Joplin, to the late Merle Rice and Mae Fuller Rice.
June married Percy Harvey Watson on September 7, 1941 in Joplin, he preceded her in death on October 27, 2005.
She graduated from Joplin High School in 1941. June spent most of her life enjoying being a homemaker and also worked outside the home at Junge Bakery.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Rice and Thelma Abernathy.
Survivors include her son, Vic Watson and wife, Janet, of Joplin; three granddaughters, Kim Brothers and husband, John, of McKinney, TX, Stephanie Scott and husband, Derek, of Joplin and Cindy Pryor, of Joplin; two great-grandsons, Brendan Brothers and Christopher Pryor; two great-granddaughters, Erin Brothers and Natalie Pryor; and two nephews, Larry Abernathy and wife Debbie, of Panama City, FL, and Phil Abernathy and wife Kathy, of Nixa, MO.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Jeff D. Martin officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church and may be left in care of the mortuary.
Funeral services are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
