Willie Frank Childress, 95, Neosho, passed away October 25, 2017. He was born July 31, 1922 in Louisville, MS, son of Henry Edgar and Lura Lane (Scott) Childress.
Mr. Childress was employed with Teledyne from 1956-1968 and had worked in security at Crowder College, Neosho. He was a US Army veteran, serving during WWII.
Willie and Dorothy Mae Childress were married August 17, 1942 in Neosho; she preceded him in death in September 2007. He is survived by two children: Linda North and George (Pete) Childress and his wife, Debbie; two sisters: Lorene Blake of Greenville, MS and Mavis Jackson of Cherokee, KS; four grandchildren: Theresa Osburn and husband, Kenny, Doug Childress and wife, Janice, Michael North and wife, Lindsey, and Jason North and wife, Shannon; three great grandchildren: Alexandria Ranae Strader and husband, James, Samantha North, and Jayden North; one great great grandson, Deklan Strader, a second great great grandchild due to arrive soon; and his best friend, Alta Richardson.
In addition to his wife, Willie was preceded in death by a sister, Fannie George Moore, and a brother, Henry Childress.
Services will be held 10:00 am, Monday, October 30, 2017 at Clark Funeral Home, with Billy Joe Gentry and Jerry Seigel officiating. Interment will follow at the Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery, with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday between 2 and 3 pm.
