Dr. Walter Hugh Ramsay, Jr., DO, 82, Neosho, entered into rest on October 20, 2017 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
Walter was born May 1, 1935 in Neosho, the son of Walter H. Ramsay, Sr. and Christine (Peek) Ramsay. He was a lifelong area resident and had served in the Army Reserves. He was a doctor of osteopathic medicine and operated a private practice in Neosho from 1963 to 1995 and then was associated with St. John’s in Neosho for five years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Neosho Masonic Lodge No. 247; Neosho Shrine Club; Scottish Rite; Valley of Joplin; Abou Ben Adhem; York Rite and a member of the Oriental Band. He was also associated with numerous medical associations. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Walter and Judith A. Timberman were married on Aug. 23, 1959 in Joplin and she preceded him in death on September 6, 2017. He is survived by three sons, Craig Ramsay and wife, Penny and Keith Ramsay and wife, Debbie of Neosho and Chris Ramsay and wife, Kim of Shell Knob, Missouri; nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017 at 10 am at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Officiating will be Galen Lasiter. Masonic services will be held on Tuesday evening at 6 pm and visitation will follow until 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
