(From Clark Funeral Home)Donna Marie Freeman, 89, Neosho, MO entered into rest December 15, 2020. She was born March 8, 1931 in Plattsburg, MO to Pauline (Bush) and William J. Troutman.
Donna graduated from Wyandotte High School and attended business school in Kansas City. She worked as a legal secretary for Judge Gilmore at KC Life Insurance Company for 13 years before resigning to stay home to raise her family.
She and Charles H. “Sonny” Freeman were married April 13, 1963 in Mission, KS. Sonny was a trainmaster for Missouri Pacific Railroad and later for Union Pacific Railroad. The family lived in Kansas City, Osawatomie, KS, Jefferson City, MO and St. Louis, MO. After retirement, they lived in Lake Pomona and Topeka, KS.
After the death of Mr. Freeman on October 24, 2000, Donna resided in Pittsburg, KS, then returned to Topeka, later moving to Girard, KS before settling in Oak Pointe of Neosho, MO. She was a member of First Christian Church in Girard, KS, the DAR, AARP, and NARVRE. Donna enjoyed dinner theaters, traveling, the lake, reading, and puzzles.
Donna is survived by three children, Shari Riley and husband, Steve of Odessa, MO, Deanna Miller and husband, Leon of Neosho, MO, and Janell Freeman of Topeka, KS; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Jeanine Crowl; and a brother, Billy Troutman.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, Friday, December 18, 2020 at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5047 NW Gateway Ave, Riverside, MO 64150. Pastor Bud Elliott will officiate. Interment will follow at East Slope Cemetery in Riverside, with family members serving as pallbearers.
