(From Ozark Funeral Home)Mr. Owen Victor Gibson, 86, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday afternoon, December 6, 2020, at National Health Care Center in Joplin, Missouri, after a twenty year battle with cancer.
Owen entered this life on January 4, 1934, in Anderson, Missouri, son of the late Doyle and Edna Alice (Himegartdner) Gibson. He was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Anderson High School.
On May 1, 1952, in Bentonville, Arkansas, he was united in marriage to Minnie Marie England and to this union two children were born. Owen loved to work. For twenty-one years he owned and operated a furniture and appliance business in Anderson and was a contract bulk mail delivery agent for over thirty years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years, Minnie Marie Gibson on September 25, 2017; and a sister, Louise Garvin.
Owen is survived by his two children, Vicki Blecha and husband, Kevin, of Anderson and Randy Gibson and wife, Nina, of Kansas City, Missouri; one granddaughter, Marsi Blecha of Anderson; two great grandchildren, Scout and Carli Watson; two sisters, Pat Roberts and Karen McCracken both of Joplin; as well as a host of other family and friends.
