(From Parker Mortuary)Sesty Ann Palmer Lopez, age 71, Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Mercy of Joplin.
Sesty was born July 26, 1949 in Indio, California, daughter of the late Carl Estell Palmer and Freda Oline Harrison Palmer.
She graduated from Joplin High School, and worked for H.E. Williams of Carthage, Infinity Lighting of Carthage, Integrity Home Health, and with Southwest Missouri Bank as a technician. She has lived in Indio, California; Hugoton, Kansas; Joplin; and most recently in Reeds, Missouri. She was a member of New Hope Assembly of God in Joplin.
In addition to her parents, Sesty was preceded in death by former husband, John Lopez; and her daughter, Heather Lopez.
Survivors include her sons, Estell Lopez and wife Shirley of Issaquah, Washington, Jeffery Lopez and wife Kimberly of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, John Paul Lopez of Webb City, Missouri; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Palmer and wife Latina of Carthage, Missouri; sisters, Velma Lassiter of Joplin, and Lois Kain of Reeds, Missouri; aunt, Pat Comfort of Joplin; uncle, Fred Harrison and wife Janet of Detroit, Michigan; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Funeral service will be Monday, December 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Bob Winnett officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Estell Lopez, Jeff Lopez, John Paul Lopez, Kevin Green, Johnny Pope, and Steven Russell serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
