(From Brown-Winters Funeral Home)Chuck Stotts (Charles Leroy Stotts, Jr.) 57, lived life big. He was born to Charles L. Stotts and Mary Jo Stotts on March 28, 1965 and met his mother in Heaven just a few hours after her death, Chuck passed away on March 1, 2023.
What Chuck would want anyone reading this to know first is that he loved God above all else with all his heart and soul. Chuck graduated from Southeast High School in Cherokee, Kansas in 1983, something quite extraordinary because he was married, a father, went to school, and worked two jobs his senior year.
One of the greatest, most beautiful love stories began July 24, 1982 when Chuck and Melinda (Bowman) Stotts vowed their love forever in McCune, Kansas where their story began lasting 40 years here on earth.
For all of his life Chuck fiercely loved Melinda and their deep love created his most precious children, three daughters, Cori, Nicole and Lynzi, and son Chance.
Chuck’s purpose driven life was aimed at glorifying God and providing for his family. He went from working at his family’s Charlie’s IGA stores, meat cutting jobs to a 40-year career with Walmart. He started as a cart pusher in Pittsburg, Kansas, then worked at stores in Nevada, Missouri, Parsons, Coffeyville, Chanute, Cushing, Oklahoma and Miami his final store as Manager.
In that role Chuck created a second Walmart family, loving his associates and customers, and becoming a much beloved part of the community he so valued. Chuck’s greatest treasures in life were his family and friends – his circle.
He left a legacy in his beloved cherished children Cori Stotts and Chris Robinson, Nicole and TJ Hood, Lynzi Stotts, and Chance and MiKayla Stotts and loved others who considered him as a father and role model including Chris Smith.
His most precious blessings were his grandchildren, Alex and Zachary Moore, Conner Stotts, Carter Hood, Harper Moore, McKenna, Emmett and Rhett Keith along with his father Charles Stotts and wife Brenda, siblings Gina Stotts, Jenn Stotts, Matt Stotts and his wife Virginia and sister Angela Atherton and her husband Drew, his mother and father-in-law Les and Wylene Bowman and Brother in law Tim
Bowman and many nieces and nephews. He has so very many he called friends, but considered Greg and Kristi Smith Family.

A visitation is set for March 5 at 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., and his celebration of life on March 6 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Christian Church in Miami, a building that was once his store. Chuck will be laid to rest in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting honoring him through the OCFC Foundation, which supports Autistic and Special Needs children and their families, a cause dear to his heart.
His last conversation and words that he loved Melinda, their children, grandchildren, and their life together and were about his Faith. Chuck would ask one thing of you – Love the Lord God with all of your Heart and Soul.
