(From Clark Funeral Home)In the fullness of time, on Dec 23, 1937, Roy Lee Bradford was born in Portales, NM, to J.D. and Callie. At the age of 7, his family, including two boys and three girls, moved to Granby, MO, where he went to school until he graduated from Granby HS in 1956.
That same year he married the girl next door, Mary Jane Lewis. God blessed this couple with “too many descendants to count” (Rom 4). As a youngster, he lived and worked on a farm. Farming was his great passion.
In the mid-’50s, Roy worked at Rocketdyne in Neosho. He started out as a lathe operator and finished as an analyst in the lab. During those years, he was still engaged in farming which included grassland farming, cattle, poultry, and hog production.
In 1962 Roy and Mary moved to Neosho and began attending Calvary Baptist church, where he was a member until the time of his death. His deep abiding faith in God began when he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and joined the Lord’s army at the age of 10. He was in active duty for 75 years. Roy’s inspiring faith has seen him through many trouble and trials, including several health problems in the last two years. On Mar 6, 2023, God healed him completely. His favorite phrase, “Praise the Lord,” is exactly what he’s doing now. To be continued…
