Stacy Daniels

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Stacy Lynn (Jester) Daniels, age 48, of Joplin passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Freeman Memorial Hospital.

She was born on February 12, 1975 to Gary and Lynda (McCone) Jester in Little Rock, Arkansas where she grew up. She was a 1993 graduate of McClellan High School and later went on to attend the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

She moved to Joplin in 2009 to start a career in the hospitality industry at Downstream Casino Resort and most recently with Marriott. It was in Joplin where she met her husband Kenny and where they started a family with the birth of their son, Connor Reese in 2009 and daughter Sicily Jewell in 2011.

Stacy had a heart of gold and cared about the well-being of others, both people and animals. As a passionate dog lover, Stacy considered her dogs members of the family including her beloved basset hound Dixon (who passed away in 2009), her Corgi, Roxy and her lab/pit mix, Connie. She was known to take in rescue dogs and help to get them fostered and was part of an inter-state pet transfer group.

In recent years she developed an interest in politics, government and social issues and was a staunch advocate for women’s rights and issues pertaining to the rights of other marginalized people such as the LGBTQ+ and black communities. She used her voice on her TikTok platform to call attention to these issues and, as no surprise, her vibrant personality allowed her to make some great friends online in the process.

She helped to establish the “Sisters Across States” Facebook Group and through that group met fellow “sisters” in cities such as Houston, Washington D.C., and Cleveland as well as Missouri’s own state capital, Jefferson City to march and support the issues that meant the most to her.

Stacy is survived by her husband, Kenny and her daughter Sicily, both of Joplin, Missouri, her father, Gary Jester of Little Rock, Arkansas, her sister Kim Berrey of Tulsa, Oklahoma, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken and Nancy Daniels, her sister-in-law, Julia Daniels, two nieces Lane Berrey and Karis Daniels, and two nephews Jack Berrey and Caleb Daniels. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lynda Jester and her son Connor Daniels.

Contributions may be made in Stacy's memory to the Joplin Humane Society in care of the mortuary.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel in Joplin. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation for friends and family will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2023 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
