Margie McLaughlin

Margie McLaughlin (85) of Joplin, MO, gained her angel wings on July 31st, 2023.

Margie was born July 25th, 1938 in Washburn, MO, to Thurman and Ethel Goodnight. Margie's main devotion in life was being a wife, mother, spending time with family, reading, doing word search books, an avid outdoor person and enjoyed walking. Margie was a very caring, giving, loving sister with a big heart. Margie was united in marriage to Marvin McLaughlin in August of 1974 in Carthage, MO.

Margie is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin McLaughlin; one daughter, Donna Todd; parents, Thurman and Ethel Goodnight; four brothers, Donald, Frankie, J.R. and Gary Goodnight; and four sisters, Sylvia Goodnight, Bonnie Wolfe, Clora Fae Jones and Zelda Glasgow.

Margie is survived by a son, Daryl McLaughlin; two daughters, Linda Burch and Brenda Rooks and husband, Rodney; one sister, Lorene McGill and husband, Ron; two brothers, Clarence Goodnight and Calvin Goodnight and wife, Vickie; and brother-in-law, Steve Glasgow; 4 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.







In lieu of flowers the family requests making a monetary donation to the Alzheimers Association of Greater MO Chapter in Springfield, MO in Honor/Memory of Margie McLaughlin.

Graveside services for Margie will be at Osborne Memorial Cemetery (33rd and McClelland Blvd. Joplin, MO) on Friday, August 4th at 12:30 p.m. with Ron McGill officiating.
