(From Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home)Wilma E. Allison, 93, of Parsons and formerly of Altamont, passed away at 4:30 p.m., Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Parsons Presbyterian Manor.
Wilma Elizabeth Stice was born on November 23, 1929, in rural Labette County. She grew up and attended school in Oswego.
On August 2, 1952, Wilma and Raymond Allison were united in marriage. Wilma lovingly dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altamont. Wilma was very involved with her church, teaching Sunday School for 10 years and participating in the We Care Group, ABW and the church choir. An active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Wilma served as a Worthy Matron for two years.
Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She also enjoyed working in the yard.
Survivors include:
One son – Kent Allison and his wife, Kathy, of Coffeyville, Kansas
One daughter – Lori Davis and her husband, Mark, of Altamont, Kansas
Seven grandchildren – Charity Shereda and her husband, Eric, of Petersburg, Ohio; David Allison and his wife, Joslyn, of Chicago, Illinois; Jonathan Allison and his wife, Jody, of Seabrook, Texas; Chris Davis of Oswego, Kansas; Phillip Schuessler of Coffeyville, Kansas; Jessica Herring and her husband, Chris, of Coffeyville, Kansas; and Terra Leon of Tulsa, Oklahoma
Three great-granddaughters – Peyton Davis, Kerri Shereda, and Gracie Allison
Nine great-grandsons – Karter Allison, Jamaine Eddy, Caden Herring, Carter Herring, Kingston Herring, Krimson Herring, Trigger Herring, Owen Shereda, and Jonathan Shereda
Two brothers – Larry Stice and his wife, Sharon, of Carl Junction, Missouri; and Norman Stice and his wife, Glenda, of Parsons, Kansas
One sister-in-law – Gerry Stice of Lawrence, Kansas
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, on October 11, 1997; three brothers, Ralph “Bud” Stice, Jr., Darrell Stice, and Wayne Stice; and one sister, Bonnie Hurst.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 4, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Altamont. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at the First Baptist Church in Altamont.
