Robert Johnson

Robert Eugene Johnson, 89, departed this life on October 15, 2024, in Neosho, Missouri. He was born on February 26, 1935, to Robert Eson Johnson and Rachael Vina Williams in Neodesha, Kansas, and was a graduate of Webb City High School. On January 2, 1954, Robert married the love of his life, Geraldine Virginia Rogers, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and together they shared 70 wonderful years of marriage.

Throughout his life, Robert was known for his strong work ethic. He worked for American Band in Uniform Sales selling to high schools and colleges. He also had a passion for NASCAR racing, which brought him great enjoyment over the years. 

Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Geraldine, and three children, Carolyn Rhodes and husband Gary of Dewey, Arizona, Susan K. Schmidt and husband Mike of Neosho, Missouri, Robert Johnson and wife Brenda of Neosho, Missouri. He is also survived by two sisters, Delores McBride of North Carolina and Reva Heard of Kansas City, Missouri, and one son-in-law, Terry Tomlin of Bella Vista, Arkansas. Robert was blessed with a large family and cherished the time he spent with them.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jeanette Tomlin; and two brothers, Arlow Johnson and David Johnson.

A visitation will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 12:30 to 1:30 PM, with a graveside service following at 2 PM at the Gibson Cemetery in Neosho, with Pastor Ken Robinson officiating.

The family has requested that memorial contributions in Robert's name be made to Newton County Senior Citizens Center Meals on Wheels.
