Matthew Creed

(From Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home)

Matthew Wayne Creed Sr., 33, of Parsons, Kansas, passed away on October 5, 2024, due to injuries sustained in a tragic automobile incident. Born on October 27, 1990, in Parsons, Matt was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend, remembered for his incredible strength, kind heart, and deep commitment to his loved ones.

Matt spent his days working as a FedEx driver in Independence, Kansas, and had previously honed his craftsmanship at C Heady’s Construction. He had a natural gift for fixing things, whether it was electronics, vehicles, or household repairs. Matt’s hands were constantly at work, reflecting his determination and his desire to be helpful to those around him.

A true outdoorsman at heart, Matt was most at peace when he was fishing. The tranquility of the water and the challenge of the catch brought him endless joy. Fishing was more than just a hobby for Matt—it was a passion that nourished his soul and gave him a sense of connection to the world around him.

Most importantly, Matt was a loving and dedicated father to his two sons, Matthew Creed Jr. and Nicolas Creed. His boys were the center of his world, and every moment spent with them was cherished. He was also a beloved son to his mother, Christina Cawthra, and stepfather, Derek Cawthra, and shared a special bond with his father, Jason Creed.

Matt is survived by his two sisters, Felecia Heady and Jessica Baty, as well as his nephew, Eric Martin Jr., and nieces: Mya Martin, Amari Martin, Willow Baty, and Alexandria Baty. He is also survived by his two uncles, Craig Heady and Cleat Heady, and his aunt, Karen Peoples. His family and friends will forever remember his generosity, his infectious sense of humor, and his deep love for nature and family.

Matt’s life, though cut short, was filled with love, passion, and a spirit that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be profoundly missed, but his legacy of strength, kindness, and his love for the outdoors will never be forgotten.
