Richard Lee “Rick” Call, age 75, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday morning, October 9, 2024, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri, after a recent battle with cancer. He entered this life on April 21, 1949, in Neosho, Missouri, to the union of Boyd and Delores (Wilson) Call.

Rick was a graduate of Rocky Comfort High School, class of 1967, and his roots in McDonald County, Missouri, remained a significant part of who he was throughout his life. On February 20, 1969, he married Nancy Love, and together they built a life filled with joy and the laughter. Rick's commitment to his family was unwavering, and he was a source of strength and guidance for all who knew him.

After serving his country with honor in the United States Air Force, Rick embarked on a successful career at Premier Turbines in Neosho, retiring in 2008 as a Program Manager with thirty plus years of dedicated service.

Rick's passions were as rich and varied as the life he led. An avid outdoorsman, he found solace and joy in fishing and hunting, often sharing these experiences with friends and family. Rick's artistic side shone through in his crafting of silver coin rings, each piece a unique expression of his creativity and skill.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Call of the home; two daughters, Monica Reagan and husband, Norman, of Rocky Comfort, Missouri and Kristen Amy Lewis of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Spencer Reagan, Maia Lewis, Zane Lewis Gauge Lewis; his mother, Delores Talbot of Neosho, Missouri; as well as host of other family and friends. His father, Boyd Call and brother, Larry Call, preceded him in death.

 

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2024 at Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri with Pastor Dennis Bergen officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery near Longview, Missouri. 

Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Eric Call, Dick Payne, Dennis Payne, Mike West, Bob Hagensick and Butch Love with Norman Reagan, Jim White, Jim Carter, Doug Cullers and Rick Sonnenberg serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorials are being directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital c/o the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
