DeLisa Hoppes

DeLisa L. Hoppes, 63, of rural Parsons, passed away at 12:19 p.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Medicalodge in Coffeyville.

She was born on October 22, 1960, at Parsons to Donald D. and Loretta M. (Hammond) Dixon, Sr. DeLisa grew up in Parsons and on the family farm near Mound Valley. She attended Parsons and Labette County schools, graduating from Labette County High School in 1978. She graduated from Labette Community College with an associate’s degree.

She worked at Power Flame, operated an in-home daycare, cleaned houses, worked at the Flesh Co., and then worked at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center as a housekeeping supervisor. She retired in 2018.

DeLisa enjoyed painting, artwork, and music. Most of all she adored her children and grandchildren. She loved living the country life with them and supporting them in their sports and activities. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Church.

She and Glenn Hoppes were married at the Church of God at Parsons in 1979. They later divorced.

DeLisa is survived by her sons, Joshua Hoppes of rural Parsons and Jacob Hoppes, and his fiancé, Sara Nickell of rural Parsons; her daughter, Staci Passauer, and her husband, Jared of Neodesha; six grandchildren, Mason Hoppes, Madison Hoppes, Natalie Hoppes, Tailyn Walker, Kaison Nash, and Holden Hoppes four bonus grandchildren, Gavin Passauer, Harper Nickell, Konner Nickell, and Dylan Nickell; two brothers, Donald “Donnie” Dixon, Jr., and his wife, Christy of rural Mound valley, Mark Dixon of Bartlesville, five sisters, Becky Dixon of Joplin, Carol Bynum, and her husband, Alan of Parsons, Donna Snider of Mound Valley, Mary Norris of Parsons, and Julie Workman, and her husband, Tom of Altamont; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two nephews, Alex Dixon and Garrett Dixon.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Dennis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday evening.
