Betty P. Dalton, age 82, of Joplin, passed away on Wednesday November 12, 2014, at Freeman Hospital, following an illness.
Betty was born on October 25, 1932 in Anderson, Mo., the daughter of the late Roy and Mae (Johnson) Roark. She has lived in Joplin since 1955. She worked for the Dalton Insurance Agency in Anderson until moving to Joplin, at which time she became a full-time mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Joplin Women’s Bowling Association from 1967 to 1990.
She married Roy L. Dalton on May 17, 1952 in Bentonville, Ar. and he survives. Additional survivors include one son, William “Bill” Dalton and wife Cheryl, Springfield, Mo.; one brother, Richard Max Roark and wife Andrena, Joplin; five grandchildren, Jared Williams and wife Johnna, Britni Williams, Macyn Sprouse, Ryan Dalton, and William Chad Dalton; and five great-grandchildren, Hayden Dalton, Dalton Williams, Alexis Williams, Bailey Clement, and Casady Clement and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Julianne Dalton Sprouse, in May 2014; two brothers, Bill Roy Dalton and John Noel Roark; and one sister, Shirley Mae Roark-Smith.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery in Anderson, Mo. with a reception to follow at 12:45 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Anderson. The pallbearers will be her nephews, Richard Roark, Brad Roark, Lee Smith, Gary Roark, Kyle Smith, and Kenny Buckner.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
