Ralph Gene Altman, age 86 of Joplin, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Freeman Hospital following an extended illness.
Ralph was born February 23, 1928 to the late Walter B. and Mrytle A. Gile Altman in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His family moved to the Joplin area where he has lived most of his life. Ralph was self employed. He attended Park Plaza Christian Church in Joplin. Ralph was also a member of the McAlister Masonic Lodge; Scottish Rite Bodies of McAlister and a lifetime member of the India Shriners of Oklahoma City.
He is survived by his wife, Lera Jeanne Riggs Altman whom he married on November 4, 1993, in Miami, OK.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Susan Bryant and husband Larry of Webb City; grandchildren, Erica and Evan Tice, Larissa Carrier and Chase Bryant; brothers, Harold and Curtis Altman; many nieces and nephews.
Additional to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Monte and Kenneth Altman.
Funeral services are planned for Friday, November 14, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Parker Mortuary. Family will receive friends Thursday from 6-7:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
