Melinda Dawn Womack, age 66, of Lamar, passed away early Monday morning, November 10, 2014, at Truman Healthcare Center.
Dawn was born August 19, 1948 in Lamar, one of the two children of Tommy and Mary (Horton) Womack. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Mike Womack; uncles, Joe and Richard Horton; aunts, Marie VanAuken and Betty Jean Horton; and cousins, Joanne Guy and David Horton.
After graduating from Lamar High School in 1966, Dawn furthered her education by completing classes in computer programming. She had worked for Frank Horton Engineering, Finley Engineering and Wilhelm Construction. Dawn was a member of Lamar United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a nephew, Seth Womack and a niece, Hailey Womack both of Del Ray Beach, Florida; extended family including cousins, Melody Metzger-Swor and husband, Gary, and Marti (Chris) Elswick of Lamar, Helen (Orville) Bailey, Carl Junction, Sandra (Rex) Steelman, Kansas City, Missouri, Athena Emmons, Lamar, and Jud Metzger, Webb City, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 12th, at Daniel Funeral Home. Burial was in Lake Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Lamar United Methodist Church or Truman Healthcare Center in care of the funeral home.
