David E. Percy, age 52, of Carl Junction, Mo. passed away on Wednesday Nov. 26, 2014 following an illness.
David was born April 23, 1962 in Lamar, Mo., the son of the late Elwood and Margarett (Fisher) Percy. A lifetime resident of both the Carl Junction and Liberal areas He worked for the Liberal School District for 3 years and Carl Junction School District as a teacher and coach for several years. David also worked as a manager at Easy Living. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf, was an avid Kansas City Chiefs, Royals and Mizzou Tigers fan. David also enjoyed playing the drums.
He married Linda Summitt, May 25, 1995, she survives. Additional survivors include one daughter; Alyssa Percy of Carl Junction, one step-daughter; Lacey Schultz and her husband Scott of Carl Junction, one step-son; Erwin Boothe and his wife Assunta of Springfield, Mo., one brother; Kevin Percy and his wife Tammy of Sierra Vista, Az., and three step-grandchildren; Emma, William and Olivia.
Memorial services have been scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2014. Jamie Lankford, Minister, will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Liberal Booster Club in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
