Lori Alison Gilmore Flood, age 51 of Joplin, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 at Freeman West Hospital.
Born May 20, 1963 in Ozark, AL, she grew up in Joplin and returned to live here in 2002. Lori graduated from high school in Hahn, Germany and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Wyoming. She served as Assistant Director of Behavioral Services for Freeman Health System’s Stephens Unit, where she was the 2008 recipient of the Freeman Excellence in Nursing Award. She was also an instructor of nursing at Franklin Technical School. She was a Christian.
Lori married Earl Flood on December 29, 2001 at Miami, OK. He survives.
Additional survivors include three sons, Nicholas Gilmore and wife Stephanie of Greeley, CO, Bryan Gilmore of Summerland Key, FL, Craig Gilmore of Joplin; a daughter, Morgen Collins of Joplin; her father, Howard J. Pendley and wife Kandis of Carthage, MO; her mother, Ellen Pitts Pendley of Joplin with Roy Langford; two sisters, Lisa Mitchell and husband Jeff of Carthage, Lesley VanVolkinburg and husband Bill of Tulsa; three stepchildren, Philip Flood and wife Carrie, Julie A. Flood and Bryan A. Flood, all of Joplin; five grandchildren, Daren Shockley, Lauren, Grayson, Dakota and LeAndra.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday at Forest Park Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery with family members serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Parker Mortuary.
