Carol Gibbons

Carol Gibbons, age 81, of Alba, Mo. passed away at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at her home following three years of ill health.

Carol was born August 24, 1933 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to John and Fannie Davis Gibbons. She moved to Alba in the early 80’s from California. Carol was a Licensed Practical Nurse, working at both St. John’s Regional Medical Center and Freeman Hospital in Joplin and St. Joseph Medical Center in California. She was a member of the Oronogo Baptist Church.

Carol is survived by a sister, Jean McKenzie May, Burbank, Calif., four nephews, and three nieces. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Erma Ayers, and Joyce Mayfield.

Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home in Webb City followed by graveside services at 2:00 p.m. at the Friends Cemetery in Purcell, Mo. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home of Webb City, Mo.
