Minnie Katherine (Elbert) Kelly, 87, Seneca, MO passed into eternal rest at her home in rural Seneca November 19, 2014.
Minnie Katherine Elbert was born March 29, 1927 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of Lawrence Charles and Anna Frances (Hoff) Elbert. Minnie was the Postmaster of the Racine Post office from February 22, 1974 to August 9, 1991. She previously worked as a clerk for the Seneca Post Office but first and foremost she was a homemaker and mother of 10 children. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Seneca, the Audubon Society, Council of Catholic Women, past member of Sweet Adeline's and a past board member of the Farm Services Agency.
Minnie married John Dutton Kelly November 15, 1947 in Seneca, MO and he preceded her in eternal rest November 19, 1965.
Survivors include her children; John E Kelly and wife Teresa, Springfield, MO, Patrick F. Kelly and wife Suzanne, Joplin, MO, Phillip J. Kelly and wife Shirley, Seneca, Thomas W. Kelly and wife Theresa, Neosho, Michael R. Kelly, Seneca, daughter-in-law, Gail Kelly, Joplin, Joseph M. Kelly and wife Suzanne, Seneca, Marian K. Kelly, Joplin, Edward V. Kelly and wife Becky, Seneca, Eileen A. Thomas and husband Hank, Seneca; brother-in-law P. Richard Kelly, Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law Aggie Elbert, Joplin; 26 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Family members who preceded her in eternal rest; her parents, her son Gregory Kelly, her daughter-in-law, Dianne Kelly, her brother, Marvin Elbert and brother-in-law Don Kelly.
Rosary services will be held from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm, Friday, November 21, 2014 with visitations following from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the St. Mary's Catholic Church Hall, Seneca, MO.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Seneca, MO. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Seneca, MO with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Arrangements under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the St. Mary's Catholic Church or the National Audubon Society in care of the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, PO Box 380, Seneca, MO 64865.
