Charles “Charlie” E. Swarens, 86, of Carthage, passed away November 10, 2014.
Charlie was born in Carthage MO, November 23, 1927 to Carl W. Swarens and Dorothy (Nealy) Swarens. Charlie was a lifetime Carthage resident. Charlie was a printer and worked and retired as an office supervisor from Tri-State Motor Company. He was a member of the Center Point Christian Church; and was active in the Mr. and Mrs. Hospital equipment fund Sunday school class of First Christian Church Carthage.
Charlie was united in marriage to Jeannine L. Byrd July 15, 1950 in Joplin, MO she preceded him August 3, 2001. Charlie is survived by one son and two daughters, Sherry Quade and husband John of Agate, CO, Tom Swarens and wife Deborah of Carthage MO, and Kay Greenlee and husband Kevin of Jasper, MO, six grandchildren Becky Touchette, Jamie Youngblood, Sara Hall, Emily Jenkins Ashley Greenlee and Garrett Greenlee, and 6 great grand children. One brother Bill Swarens of Carthage, MO and three sisters Doris Grey of Carthage, MO, Nancy Heath of Las Crusa, NM, and Linda Michaels of Augusta, GA.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday November 14, 2014 at Fasken Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday November 13, 2014 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Contributions can be made to the Mr. and Mrs. Hospital Equipment Fund in care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
