Peggy Lucile Huff, 87, Carthage, passed away Sunday morning, November 16, 2014 at her home after a sudden illness. Peggy Lucile DeVall was born on January 8, 1927 in Canandaigua, NY to James Carleton DeVall and Florence E. Burnett. On December 5, 1945 she married Gerald E. Huff in Elizabeth City, NC, he precedes her in death on September 13, 2011. She spent her years working for Centrex and Midwest Electric. Peggy was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Carthage.
Survivors include three sons; Donald Huff (wife Gilconida), Carthage, James Huff (wife Susan), Andover, MN, Burchell Huff, Blue Earth, MN, one daughter; Ellen Hill, Rapid City, SD, three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerald Huff, one brother, William DeVall, and two sisters Sylvia DeVall and Barbara DeRuyter.
A visitation will be held on Friday morning, November 21, 2014 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the Church of the Nazarene, 2000 S. Grand Ave, Carthage with the funeral service following at 10:30 AM. Rev. Dustin Ledford will officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Fort Snelly National VA Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
