Marjorie Larraine Swindle Hoofnagle, age 92, of Carthage passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 11:39 p.m. at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Mrs. Hoofnagle was born January 16, 1922 in Carthage, Missouri to Hazel and Cressie (Chorum) Swindle. She went to school at Red Oak Elementary and graduated from Lockwood High School in 1941.
Marjorie married Gene Hoofnagle on February 25, 1943, they lived on the farm 39 years where she was a homemaker and helped farm until they retired and moved north of town in Carthage in 1990. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School class. She is survived by her husband, Gene, her son Barry Hoofnagle and wife Mary Jo, 2 grandchildren; Kari Jo and Kristopher Hoofnagle of Camden Point, MO She was preceded in death by her Parents and 1 Brother, Alfred Swindle
Graveside Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday November 25, 2014 at Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2014 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Contributions can be made to First Christian Church in care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences maybe sent at www.ulmerfh.com.
