Alexander Christopher Jarvis, 36, Granby, passed away July 11, 2017 at Freeman West in Joplin.
He was born June 25, 1981 in Smithville, Missouri. Alexander lived the first six years of his life in Excelsior Springs and in 1987 moved to Granby. He attended East Newton High School and served in the U.S. Army for seven years. Following his discharge from the Army he returned to Granby and has resided there since. Alexander had a Black Belt in Karate, was an avid reader and enjoyed talking about the Bible. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Granby.
Alexander is survived by his mother, Jeanette Jarvis of Granby; uncle, John Rolek and wife, Kim and cousin, Molly Rolek. He is preceded in death by his father, Lee Jarvis in 2003; brother, Paul Jarvis in 2005 and maternal grandmother, Norma Rolek in 2011.
Services will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Clark Funeral Home in Granby with Rev. Russ Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Granby Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
