Lettie Ruth Eldred went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 24, 2017. She was born July 5th 1927 in Borger, Texas just after midnight as the fireworks were still going off. Borger is located in the panhandle of Texas. The family eventually moved to Independence MO.
She was preceded in death by: Her husband: Aaron Warren Eldred, Her parents: Charles Leslie and Ruby Allen, Her brothers: Leslie, Don, and Victor, who died in infancy, and Her sister: Marjorie.
She graduated from William Chrisman High School in Independence MO and she worked as an operator for L.M. Berry Phone Company.
She graduated from Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa with an AA in Education degree. She moved to southwest Missouri with her college friend Geneva and taught school at Pine School for two years, which was a one room school.
She met Aaron Warren Eldred and they were united in marriage on October 22, 1949 in a double wedding with her brother Don and lifelong friend Virginia.
She is survived by her brother Robert Allen and wife Susan of Topeka, Kansas; a son: Phillip and wife Donna, a son: Wayne and wife Shannon, grandchildren: Rosita and husband Danny; Ross and wife Chesley; and Shannon, great-grandchildren: Josalyn, Aaron, Austin, and Isaac, step great-grandchildren: Kalista, Tyler, and Corbin.
She was very active in church and youth work making hundreds of plaster molds for children’s crafts. She most recently attended the Maple Grove Restoration Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ and was a resident of Spring River Christian Village in Joplin, MO.
