Marcelay A. Sharp, 61, Carthage, MO, passed away early Thursday morning, July 13, 2017 at the Missouri Veterans Home, Cameron, MO.
Marcelay Ann Sharp was born May 19, 1956 in Ft. Crowder, MO. She graduated from Carthage High School, Class of 1974. She received her Associate Degree in Applied Science in Nursing at Lincoln University, Jefferson City, MO in 1984. Marcelay then attended Missouri Southern State University in 1987 and received her B.S. in Psychology and Sociology, and went on to Pittsburg State University and completed her graduate school in Nursing. She served in the U.S. Air Force from 1974-1980 and the U.S. Army Reserve from 1982-1986. She worked as an RN in Geriatrics for Webb City Country Care, Webb City, MO. Marcelay was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Carthage, MO.
Survivors include her parents, JP & Dorothy Sharp of Carthage, MO; one sister, Renay Minshew (husband Glen), Carthage, MO; one niece, Arieanna Reynolds (husband Scott), Carthage, MO; one nephew, Nathan J. Minshew, St. Louis, MO, and several great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 6:30 pm, Monday, July 17, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, Carthage. Rev. James Lee will officiate. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary, Carthage.
