Donald Lee “Don” Sexton, age 65, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 at his home.
Donald was born April 9, 1952 in Joplin, Missouri, to David and Jessica (Haverfield) Sexton. He grew up in Joplin and he was a 1970 graduate of Parkwood High School in Joplin. After graduation, Don actively served his country for four years in the United States Air Force. He was a fabricator for most of his lifetime, working in Joplin and Wichita. Don enjoyed listening to classic rock and blues music. He also loved watching westerns.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Patty Brown.
Don is survived by his three daughters, Ashlea Garrison (Chris) of Warrensburg, Missouri, Jessica Jarrell (Robert) of Joplin, Missouri, and Graycie Sexton of Joplin; four grandchildren, Jennifer Garrison, Emily Garrison, Uriah Jarrell and one on the way; three great-grandchildren; three siblings, David Sexton, Jr. (Marie), Linda Mobley (Jim) and Shirley Sladen, all of Joplin; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; and his beloved dog and best friend, Jasper.
No formal services are being held at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
