Sandra Jean Bemis, 80, passed away suddenly on the morning of July 8, 2017 at Mercy Hospital.
Sandy was born august 10, 1936 in Joplin, Missouri to George and Eula Boyd. She was an RN at McCune Brooks Hospital for 30 years and became known as "Beamer". She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Richard Bemis in November of 2016.
Sandy leaves behind a daughter, Tammy Comer with spouse Daren Wilkinson of Joplin and a son Steven Russell of Nixa. She also has four grandchildren; Chris Russell of Nixa, Kari Jo Russell of Nixa, Jeremiah Comer with spouse Bobbi Comer of Joplin, Samantha Palmer with spouse Chris Palmer of Joplin and seven great-grandchildren. In addition Sandy is also survived by her three younger siblings; George "Bud" Boyd Jr with spouse Barbara Boyd, Judy K Rawlings, and Harry Boyd with spouse Mary.
Services will include a visitation at 6pm on July 12th at Mason Woodard Mortuary and graveside services at 10am on July 13th at Ozark Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
