Nona Ruth Chandler, age 79, Joplin, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017 at her home after a sudden illness.
Nona was born July 24, 1937 in Lockwood, Missouri to the late John Chandler and Gwendolyn McClouey Chandler and lived in the Joplin area most of her life.
She worked in the healthcare industry for several years and was an agent with Century 21 Realty. Nona enjoyed architecture, reading and doing charity work with Souls Harbor. She was a longtime and faithful member of Grace Baptist Church, where she belonged to the women's group.
Survivors include a sister, Joyce 'Elaine' Hunter, Joplin; a brother, Don Sherron, Carthage; children, Denise Theriot, Duenweg, Jamie Stone, Liberal, Mary Jackson, Lynn County, Kansas, Vicki Greenlow, Joplin; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren and several other extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three grandchildren.
Graveside services are planned for Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Fred Vogel will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
