Max B. Nunn went to his home in heaven on July 16, 2017 at the age of 91 years, 7 months and 10 days at Medicalodge in Neosho, MO, following declining health and a lengthy illness.
Max was born at Mason Springs, MO on Sunday, Dec. 6, 1925 to Pete and Carol (Roark) Nunn, they precede him in death. Max attended number 1 School and Seneca High School, where he lettered in football. He was saved and baptized in Masons Springs and was a member of the Swars Prairie Baptist Church. Max was drafted in 1944 and served in WW II. He did his basic training in Fort Hood, Texas and was then stationed in Germany. He was a Corporal in Blood and Fire 63rd Infantry Division 253rd Battalion Company H. He also served in France as military police following the war and was honorably discharged in 1946.
Max married Sharon (Kelley) on December 31, 1965 in Newtonia, MO and they enjoyed their farm together south of Seneca for over 50 years, where Sharon still resides. Max and Sharon have two children, Jeff Nunn and wife, Stephanie of Goodman and Rhonda Percival and husband, Donnie of Seneca; four grandchildren, Matthew Percival and wife Caitlin of Stella; Adam Max Percival and wife, Nicole of Seneca; Cameron Nunn of Fayetteville, AR and Jacob Nunn of Goodman; one great grandson, Rhett Percival and a great grandson, Tucker Max, due to arrive any day. He loved you all with of all his heart and was so proud of each of you. Additional survivors include one brother, Sam Nunn of Neosho; a host of nieces; one nephew and a host of great nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved each and everyone and two cousins, Floyd Sreaves and wife Carolyn of Seneca and Margie Perse of Wyandotte, OK. Max is also preceded in death by two sisters, Nadene Nunn Bruton and her husband, Charlie; Marcelene Nunn Sreaves and her husband, Ray; one brother, Brooks Nunn and his wife, Lucille; sister in law, Gloria Skelton and nephew, Aaron Skelton. Max enjoyed visiting with his friends and neighbors.
The family wishes to thank so many for their help with Max over the past two years, Donna Roark, Tabitha Butler Hayes and the nurses and staff of Medicalodge and Avalon Hospice. Our love and appreciation goes out to each of you for the care given to him.
Funeral services for Max will be on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 2 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Dr. Todd Decker will officiate. Interment will follow in the Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery and those serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Percival, Adam Max Percival, Ron Nunn, Mark Bennett, Ray Skelton and Ronnie Wade. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation Thursday, from 1 pm until service time at the funeral home.
