Bettigail Garver, 96, Carthage, MO passed away Thursday afternoon, July 6, 2017 at Oak Pointe Assisted Living Center in Carthage. Bettigail "BG" Garver was born May 15, 1921 in Springfield, Illinois to Ted and Elsie Anderson. She met her husband, O. William "Bill" Garver when they were in high school together in Springfield. They were married on August 3, 1941. Bettigail was a homemaker, loved to play bridge, spin her own yarn, weaved some incredible things on her looms, was well loved by many.........and cheered her beloved Chicago Cubs to a World Series victory in 2016. Thank you Cubbies! You brought great joy to our mom.
Survivors include three sons, William Robert Garver, Cedar Hill, TX., Ted Edward Garver, Carthage, MO., Jay Lewis Garver, Greendale, WI., two daughters, Carol Anne Stevens, Richardson, TX., Linda Kay Garver-Affeldt, Lodi, WI., nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Garver, her father, Ted Anderson, her mother, Elsie Anderson, and her brother, Don Anderson.
Family memorial services will be held at a later date. On line condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com. Bill and BG's favorite charities were The Shriner's Hospital and Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
