Geneva L. Craig, age 73, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Freeman Hospital, following a short illness.
Geneva was born July 9, 1944 in Joplin to the late Harley Sailor and Sylvia "June"Fort Hart. She attended Joplin Junior College and then worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Veteran's Officer. Geneva was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
On December 4, 1963, Geneva married Richard L. Craig in Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 17, 2003. Additionally, a sister, Sylvia Harrison also preceded Geneva in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Yarbrough and husband, Roland of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Naomi Cricket Hultman and husband, Paul of Joplin; grandchildren, Aaron Eidson and wife, Sarah, Austin Eidson and wife, Sarah, Autumn Mosby and husband, Matt, Tess Hultman and Brock Hultman; nine great grandchildren; sisters, June Mattes of Joplin, Theresa Striegel of Neosho and Christine Hart of Joplin.
A committal of ashes will take place on Tuesday, August 1, at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park Cemetery, Joplin.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
