Alma Raines

Alma J. Raines, 67, Neosho, entered into rest on July 7, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, following a lengthy illness.

Alma was born Dec. 3, 1949 in Stella, MO and was a lifelong area resident. She had worked as a nurse’s aide at Sale Memorial Hospital, at Sunbeam, as a hairdresser; a truck driver and was a homemaker. She enjoyed the farm animals and being with people. She loved her family, living life and always had a smile. She was a member of the Church of Hope. 

Alma and John Raines, Sr., were married on March 27, 1966 in Neosho and John survives of the home. Additional survivors are her three children, Laura Raines, Tamara Workman and John Raines, Jr., all of Neosho; three brothers, Curtis Severs and wife, Barbara of Aurora; Don Severs and wife, Rita of Louisiana and Raymond Severs of Neosho; one sister, Ava Banks of Texas; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
