Carrol Drake

Mr. Carrol Gene Drake, 85, long time resident of Anderson and recently of Goodman, Missouri departed this life on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Mercy Hospital after a short illness.

Carrol entered this life on January 16, 1935 in Anderson, MO to the late Gilbert and Mamie (Thurman) Drake. He grew up in Anderson and finished his schooling there. 

He was united in marriage to Dorlene Thompson on January 17, 1954 in Anderson, Missouri. He attended Word of Spirit in Goodman and worked at Wal Mart in the warehouse until later managing his own rental business. Carrol enjoyed deer hunting and doing word searches but most of all enjoyed the time he could spend with his family and relished time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Carrol is survived by his wife of 66 years; Dorlene of the home, two sons; Curtis Drake and wife Sheila of Goodman, MO and Keith Drake and wife Sherry of Joplin, MO, a brother Ivan Drake of Anderson, a sister Retha Craig of Rogers, AR, five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren as well as a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Carrol Gene Drake will lay in state from 9 a.m. until 7p.m. Tuesday December 8, 2020 at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website, www.ozarkfuneralhome.com.
