(From Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home)Ralph Eugene Zimmerman II, age 71, died Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Cox South Springfield, MO from cardiac arrest and COVID-19 complications. He was born August 31, 1949 to Carita (Smith) & Ralph Eugene Zimmerman I, both deceased.
He grew up in the Joplin area, graduating from Joplin High School in 1968 and Missouri Southern State University in 1974. Ralph had a long career with Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company beginning in 1989.
He was respected for his dedication to customer support and care. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Ralph was a gentle, kind and humorous man of strong faith. He was an old fashioned "family" man loving his family most of all.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Connie Gideon-Zimmerman; daughters Carla Stanton (Richard) of Webb City, MO and Jessica Zimmerman Selvidge (Bryan) of Springfield, MO; son Carl Zimmerman of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Drew Zimmerman and Andi Stanton, Cody and Brooke Zimmerman; siblings Carol Powell (Charlie), Gary Zimmerman (Diane), Carita Heseman (Tom), Craig Zimmerman (Cindy) and Joy Stafford (Matt); brother-in-law David Gideon (Kay); beloved mother-in-law Betty Gideon; and former daughter-in-law Cathy Rogers. He is also survived by numerous family members, co-workers and dear friends. He will be missed by all that knew him including his dog pal Mr. Mugsy.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date to celebrate Ralph's life and place in our hearts. Private graveside services will be held at Mt. Carmel, Golden City, Missouri.
