Dennis Smith

Dr. Dennis William Smith was born on March 4, 1948 and passed away on February 23, 2023 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

He was first and foremost a physician. He worked tirelessly for many
years, always putting his patients needs first. He was a skillful and
attuned diagnostician who never stopped continuing his medical education in order to help those who were under his care.

Always donning a suit and tie, he was certainly the most well dressed, professional, and dapper doc around. Well respected by his patients and peers, he had a full and long career.

His accomplishments are too many to list. He would have continued practicing, but Parkinson's took that away from him. The Healer could not heal himself.

Dr. Smith is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Letha Ann. Son; Scott Smith and wife Tya; Daughter Juliana Hunt and husband Jason; Daughter Jennifer Rhymer and husband Paul; Granddaughters, Dilyn, Harper, Ayden, Alexia, Amelia, and Grandson Samuel.

Memorial visitation will be on Tuesday, March 7th at Parker Mortuary from 5-7pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Parkinson's research to help find a cure for this debilitating disease.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
