Rick Evans

Ricky Brown “Rick” Evans, age 58, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Freeman West of Joplin.

Rick was born April 26, 1965, in Oaklawn, IL son of the late Ronald C. Evans and Audrey J. (Brown) Evans. He grew up in Cassville, MO and graduated from Cassville High School in 1983 before attending Missouri Southern State University where he received his bachelor's degree in commercial art. 







During his time at Southern he enjoyed his time being a photographer for the Chart, the campus newspaper, and was active in MSSU theater. For 25 years Rick was a server at Pizza Inn on South Rangeline and entertained his guests with numerous impressions and jokes. More recently, Rick found a new work family as part of the team at Casa Montez.

Rick had a love for the monster movies and radio shows of the 1930’s – 1950’s and from a young age expanded this passion in the model building world. He is recognized throughout the modeling community for both his build-up and sculpting skills. Rick’s booming voice, integrity, and deep sense of caring for his family and friends will be missed by many.








Survivors include his siblings, Mike Evans and wife Deidra of Neosho, MO, Doug Evans of Ottawa, KS, Richard Evans and wife Lori of Freeman, MO, Carol Gallagher and husband Darrell of Jackson, MO, Kathy Klemp of St. Louis, MO, Janette Miller and husband David of Salina, KS, and Judy Sharp and husband Ralph of Jackson, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Monday, March 18th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Graveside service will be Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville, MO.

  1. I sure remember him from Pizza Inn back in the day. Always so friendly and would entertain the kids . RIP
