Mossie Ailene Davis, age 77, Joplin, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Freeman West Hospital.
Mossie was born May 21, 1939 in Harlan, Kentucky, daughter of the late Chester Turner and Martha Curry Turner. She attended school in Harlan, and worked for years as a waitress. She moved to Joplin in 1986 where she began her own cleaning business, working for many businesses in the Joplin area. She was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Eagle's Lodge, and the VFW Auxiliary. She also attended South Side Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mossie was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Lee Davis who passed away on July 21, 2008, two daughters, Lucille Mannuzza and Phyllis Noe.
Survivors include her daughter, Katherine Craig of Joplin; sons, Joseph Noe of Tulsa, Oklahoma, John Davis of Joplin, and Victor Ruiz, Jr. and wife Christine of Plainfield, Illinois; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Vera Redman and husband Hill of Graceville, Florida; brother-in-law, Robert Davis of Joplin; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
