Alvan Tisdale

Alvan R. Tisdale age 84 of Webb City passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Webb City Health & Rehab. 

 He was born in Kenbridge, Virginia to Aubrey Tisdale and Clare (Skillman) Tisdale. Alvan was a retired major in the United States Air Force where he was an Air Force Navigator. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Webb City, and also a lifetime member of the Webb City Elks Lodge where he was a past exalted ruler. 

 Alvan married Rita (Jeri) (Taylor) Tisdale on April 2, 1983 and she survives him at home. He is also survived by his daughter, Sabrina Cook and husband Mitch of Joplin; sons, Frank Tisdale and wife Patricia of Joplin; sisters, Mary Ann Hamilton and husband Frank of Martinsburg, WV, Anita Spencer of Martinsburg, WV; stepson, Don Yocum and wife Tammy of Charleston, South Carolina; stepdaughter, Debi McBride and husband Mike of Webb City; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Alvan was preceded in death by his sons, Timothy Tisdale and Charles Tisdale; his first wife, Ruth Shinn; and a brother, Aubrey Tisdale, Jr. 

 Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City with Zack Thomas officiating. The family will be present for a visitation on Friday from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial will be in Park Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri with full military honors. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Webb City Elks Lodge Scholarship Fund in his memory.
