Joseph Price Naramore, 98, Neosho, entered into rest on March 30, 2018 at Medicalodge in Neosho, following an extended illness.
Price was born June 21, 1919 at the Christopher Community in Newton County and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Rocky Comfort High School and completed a bachelor’s degree in scripture. He served in the U. S. Navy Seabees during World War II. Price was an entrepreneur and was a merchant in the grocery, lumberyard and hardware business in the Wheaton, Bethpage and Rocky Comfort Communities. In addition he was a minister, preaching the gospel of Christ. He enjoyed going to flea markets and was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ.
Price married Carolyn Schell on Jan. 4, 1937 in Cassville, MO and she preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 2011. He is survived by one son, Virgil Max Naramore of Neosho; three grandchildren, Virgil Blain Naramore of Longview, TX; Ronnie Max Naramore and wife, Kelly of Lafkin, TX and Tara Renee Naramore of Nacogdoches, TX and five great grandchildren, Ashley Taylor Wolhof, Payton Michael Wolhof, Harry Blain Ruckel, Natalie Naramore and Samantha Naramore. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Price Naramore, II.
Services will be Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 10 am at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Neosho. A private graveside will follow. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho on Thursday from noon until 5 pm and Friday from 9 am until 5 pm.
