Robert Lee Stump, age 77, of rural Lockwood, Missouri, passed away late Sunday night, March 25, 2018, surrounded by family at Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation.
Robert was born September 1, 1940, in Dade County, Missouri, first of the three children of Lee and Faye (Ford) Stump. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Juanita Rookstool; a nephew, Kevin Stump; and a niece, Kathy Stump.
On May 20, 1960, at, Lamar, Robert married Laura Lee Ehrsam and they made their home and raised their children in Dade County. In addition to farming, Robert drove trucks for Dyno Explosives and Leprino Trucking for several years. Robert never met a stranger, making relationships and people his highest priority. Many will remember time spent with Robert, his wide smile and the twinkle in his eyes as he shared (and may have embellished just a bit) countless stories. He was a long-time member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and currently attended First Baptist Church of Golden City.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 58 years, Laura Lee, of the home; their daughter, Shery (Paul) Wynn, Lockwood; son, Randy (Alana) Stump, Tomball, Texas brother, Eugene (Connie) Stump, Lockwood; brother-in-law, Larry Rookstool, Nixa, Missouri; four grandchildren, Mandy (Mickeal) Winefeldt, Lockwood, Jared Stump & fiancé, Allison Abey, Yardley, Pennsylvania, Taylor Wynn, Rich Hill, Missouri, and Megan (Rusty) Mann, El Dorado Springs, Missouri; and two great-grandchildren, Raven and Brett Winefeldt, Lockwood.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 30th at Daniel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lamar.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation/Good Endings Room or Gideons International, in care of the funeral home.
