Karen Gould

Karen R. Gould, age 67, Carl Junction, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at her home after a sudden illness.

Karen was born September 4, 1950, in Joplin to Becky McCorkle Decker and the late Bobby Edward Decker.

Karen was a homemaker and enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends. She was an advocate for animals and adored her rescue dogs, Lucy and Maggie. Karen will be missed by all who knew her.

She married Don Gould on September 7, 1968, in Smithfield, Missouri. He survives at the home.

Additional survivors include two sons, Bob Gould and wife, LaNay, Bentonville, Rhett Gould and wife, Tricia, Joplin; her mother, Becky Decker, Carl Junction; grandchildren, Remington, Liam, Ava, Claire, Elise; close friend, Janice Merry, Joplin; and several extended family members.

Services are planned for Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Bob Simon will officiate. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bob Heiniger, Steve LeMaster, Richard Huskey, Gale Wade, Greg Wells, Bob Gould and Rhett Gould. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1-2:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joplin Humane Society or to Golden Paw Pet Rescue, both in care of Parker Mortuary.
