Neal W. Letterman, 78, of Joplin, went to be with his heavenly father on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Freeman Hospital.
He was born on June 2, 1939 in Seneca, Missouri; the son of Mack Neal and Ruby Schaffer Letterman. Neal was a lifelong resident of Joplin. He married Coweta Myers in Miami, Oklahoma in December, 1960. Neal “Cat" worked for Eagle Picher for 43 years, was a member of Southside Apostolic Church, and a past master of the Joplin #335 AF&AM Masonic Lodge. He was also a proud U.S. Army veteran.
Neal is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Trisha Leighan Martin Endicott; and his faithful and loving companion, his dog Duke.
He is survived by his wife Coweta, of Joplin; a daughter, Debra Suzanne Jones (Jeff), of Joplin; two granddaughters, Mandy Jones and Kristin Martin, both of Joplin; one sister, Dorothy Quillin (Jack), of Joplin; a nephew, William Neal Herron (Mary), of Carthage; and numerous family and friends.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 2, 2018 in Osborne Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Brian Moser officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
