Mary Louise Wheeler, 91, Newtonia, entered into rest on March 24, 2018 at Medicalodge in Neosho.
Mary was born Nov. 4, 1926 in Newtonia, MO, the daughter of Frank and Ada (Pace) Oxendine. She worked at Big Smith for twenty years as an inspector and was a member of the Newtonia Baptist Church.
Mary and Howard Wheeler were married on July 17, 1946 in Neosho and he preceded her in death on July 14, 1997. She is survived by one son, Larry Wheeler of Newtonia; one daughter, Linda Woodcock and husband, Danny of Neosho; one sister, Anita Coey of Perrysville, OH; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by five brothers, Onal, Charles, Richard, Neil and Paul Oxendine.
Services will be Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel, Granby, Pastor Doug Gripka will officiate. Interment will follow in the Newtonia IOOF Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby. Contributions in memory of Mary may be made to the Newtonia Baptist Church, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 26, Granby, MO 64844.
