Ann Omsberg

Ann Patricia Omsberg, age 79, Joplin, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 in Freeman Hospital following an illness. Ann was born on February 13, 1939 in London, England. Her parents, Frank and Lilly Elizabeth (Collins) Pearce preceded her in death. Ann was very close to her only sibling, John Stanley Pearce who passed on March 9, 2015.

After graduation from school, Ann began working for C and A's Department Store in London. She was an assistant to the buyers, helping to select fashions. Ann met an American serviceman, Bill Dugan. After their marriage, they came to America. Bill's military service gave Ann a grand tour of America, having been stationed in many cities over a 20-year military career.

At the end of Bill's career and their divorce, Ann went to work for Freeman Hospital. She worked there for twenty years.

Ann was very meticulous concerning her personal appearance, making sure every hair was in place. She was blessed with many talents; painting, cooking, immaculate housekeeping and organizing. Ann's paintings were recognized in London Galleries and won first place in a Las Vegas exhibit.

In addition to Ann's talents, she was a great animal lover of all creatures great and small. She especially loved her kitty cats, Tiger and Missy along with her blond shepherd named Pumpkin and Old Red, an irish setter. Ann was also caregiver to the mother of her 30-year companion, Robert Medley.

In addition to Robert, Ann leaves behind her devoted sister-in-law, Jackie Mallatt, special friend, Phyllis Walton, along with a host of other friends.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Osborne Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Carthage Humane Society, 13860 Dog Kennel Road, Carthage, Missouri 64836 or Faithful Friends Animal Advocate, P.O. Box 863, Neosho, Missouri 64850.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
