Robert (Bob) Butterfield, 81, Grove, OK, formerly of Seneca, MO passed away March 10, 2018 at the Grove Nursing Center after a long illness.
Robert C. Butterfield was born June 12, 1936 in Topeka, KS the son of John and Louetta (Knight) Butterfield. Bob served this country for 21 years in United State Air Force until retiring in 1974 Bob then served 20 years in law enforcement at the Newton County Sheriffs Department as a Deputy and the Seneca Police Department as Police Chief. He loved to golf, play pool, dominos, cards. Bob dedicated his life to helping people by serving and caring for them.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents John & Louetta Butterfield; one sister, Merlene Robinson; his first wife of 31 years Mary Butterfield; his second wife of 4 years Beth Butterfield; one brother John Butterfield Jr.; one granddaughter, Audra Rachell Hogan; two great-granddaughters, Shyann Browning and Courie K Cox and one great-grandson Cassin Grey Walls.
Survivors include two sons; Tim Butterfield and wife Dana, Seneca, MO and Brian Butterfield and wife Cheryl, Arlington, TX; two daughters, Drenda Cox and husband Doug, Grove, OK and Karla Foos and husband Fred, Lamar, MO; one sister, Donna Burkhart Greer, Joplin, MO; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Racine Christian Church in Racine, MO, with John St. Clair officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Jim Griner, David Griner, Roger Burkhart, Tyler Browning, Marvin Fidler and Earl Browning.
