(From Parker Mortuary)
Imogene McDaniel Jackson, age 89, Joplin, passed away on Saturday March 10, 2018. She was born on December 23, 1928 in Spurgeon, Missouri, the daughter of George and Atha Lawson McDaniel.
She was a lifetime resident of the Joplin area. She was known by many for her cooking and her incredible green thumb. If she tasted it, she could re-create it; if she planted it, it blossomed. She enjoyed spending time on her patio watching birds and enjoying nature.
Imogene was united in marriage with Donald Lee Jackson on December 15, 1946. He and her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by what she considered her greatest accomplishments, her three children; Donna Lucian and husband Robert, of Sherman, Texas, Rita Anderson and husband Jerry of Joplin, and Nick Jackson and wife Diane of Quapaw, Oklahoma. There was always a smile on her face when bragging about her five grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. They were her pride and joy.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Ozark Memorial Park with Rev. Gayle Lucian officiating. No visitation is scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
