Nadine Gabriel

Nadine Laughlin Gabriel, 83, Anderson, entered into rest on March 26, 2018 at Joplin Gardens, Joplin, MO, following an extended illness. 

 Nadine was born Aug. 13, 1934 in Neosho, the daughter of Ray and Lilly (Nance) Whitman. She was a lifelong area resident and had worked at Sunbeam, Triway School and the Neosho Daily News. She enjoyed reading, sewing and being on the farm and was of the Baptist Faith. 

 Nadine and Joseph Gabriel, Jr. were married on July 27, 1974 in Neosho and he preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 1985. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Carol Hathaway and Roy Horton and children, Brian Howard, Lance Howard and Lynette Paape and their children, Mitchell, Bessie, Faith, Austin, Tyler, Kaelyn, Drake, Rylie, Lecly, Johny and Blake; Janice Louise Childress and husband, Charles, daughter, Jennifer McQueary and children, Stormy, Alexis and Kiera and Brenda Jean Bunch and husband, Guy and children, Ryan Bunch and Holly Bunch; one brother, Ray Junior Whitman and one sister, Patsy Sue Burkhart. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Olivia Howard; siblings, Julia Whitman, Elwyn Whitman, Opal Sweeney, Leo Whitman, Martha Vanderlip, Ruth White and Eugene Whitman and the father of her children, William Glen Laughlin.

Services will be Friday, March 30, 2018 at 2 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Pastor Larry Petton will officiate. Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Terry, Danny, Kendall and Jason Laughlin, Billy Sweeney and David Whitman. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
